Hotel Rooms

Just a FYI: the hotel rates for the rooms are up on the AB website. I just thought people should know :)

Keene Pumpkin Festival

Here are some photos of the Keene Pumpkin Festival. It was a lot of fun, I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to go next year. Sarah did an awsome job as tour guide.

Hey, are we doing a theme this year for Anime Boston '07? I have no idea and we have not really talked about it. Is anyone interested in doing something? Let us get a dialog going.

My other vehicle is a big blue box...

Hi guys! Yep I'm still alive. =P Just been busy with work and round the house stuff. Annnnnd found a new series to obsess over a bit. Not anime for a change though. If you guys haven't seen the new 2005-2006 series of Doctor Who, DO IT! The show rocks my socks sooo much. Not to mention the lead actors are quite fetching. =) I wonder if you could cosplay as a TARDIS?.....

Speaking of cosplay, next time we get together I got some stuff called VetWrap from work that might be useful with the harder costumes. It's self adhesive stretchy bandage material that comes in a few different colors. Thinking it might be useful to soften up sharp edges maybe?

I'll keep checking my email and these boards for updates on the next time we can all get together. My schedule remains pretty open as far as I can anticipate.

The consequences of wearing automail

I just wanted to let everyone know that you can direct someone to this site if they want to check us out. I am going to post most of the info pertinent to general announcements here, but I will e-mail the really important stuff. Okay? Okay. So if someone is having a problem convincing someone else because s/he does not know us, direct that person to the blog. No one needs to worry about feeling strange, look at how Rachel fit right in with us! Lyndsey, you were the only one who knew here before AB ’06, correct? No worries then! Keep the dialog flowing!
I like how in the background it looks like the sword is stabbing her in the shoulder, tee hee.

AB'07 Hotel stuff/e-mail

Hey guys,
I am just sending a group e-mail because I am not sure if anyone is checking the blog (http://adorable-otakus.blogspot.com) other than myself, Candice, & Sara. Also, I was not sure if things are definite for AB'07 yet. Eliza, we have not heard from you in ages (I think since just after AB'06), are you still there? What is going on? I know you are not dead because you live locally to me so it would be splashed all over the news. Just working a lot, huh?

Oh, I have a question about the FMA movie...is it out over here yet? I saw it at Wal-mart in Salem, NH the other day. I did not get it because I was not feeling all that great (therefore not paying attention) & it was a package deal w/ the first FMA dvd. Anyway, I thought that was it, maybe it was just a preview, although I was pretty sure it was the movie, becuase I was shocked. Has the whole series been released?

So, are we going to get our numbers up for the rooms? What is the count thus far? I have me, Sara, Candice, Lyndsey, Rachel, & Eliza (if her body has been found, yet). Lauren (nice to meet you...), are you able to come? I know it is far in advance, but I want to make the reservation by Nov. 1 (although, I just looked at the hotel page & there is nothing there, which worries me, are they going to raise their prices? That would suck) and I want at least 8 people to justify getting two rooms (4 in each, to defer costs, so we can all spend what we have left in the dealer's room, or, where I spent it, Artist's Alley). Last year with taxes the total for the room was about $580 (& some change), so each person would be spending $145 (& some change) in a REALLY rough estimate. It would be great if we could get two more people so we have 5 people in each room, but I would prefer to not pick people off the street. So are there any more bodies to dig up? I know one room has to be female only for personal reasons that no one should judge. Also, when the page is up (hopefully SOON, but do not worry, I am all over it) I will be able to give a better estimate on the price. And when I get the tentative total from the hotel I will split it up and everyone will get their estimate when I know. Am I going too fast for anyone? Chop, chop! Pick up the pace! Oh, Sara mentioned Kyle...do we want a piece of him >wink, kidding
Okay, anyone can comment on the blog, all you have to do is click the comment link at the end of a post. Also, please feel free to respond to this group message (Rachel, Lauren), we welcome all peoples & cultures to our planet. I want more use out of the blog, but if an e-mail is easier, just do the e-mail. I liked being able to post photos on the blog, that is why I did that. I think I am going to post this e-mail on the blog as well. Just in case anyone loses the e-mail afterwards. Talk to you all later!

OMG!!

Could you just die?!?!?!?! These two are the sweetest little things I saw all weekend at AB '06. You know their parents dressed them up because my mother knew what the anime was that they were from. I asked them and their parents if I could take their photo and they were so happy, their parents were laughing. That was Saturday, so I was fighting with the multiple skirts.
Hey, Lyndsey, for the skit you are thinking about, which costume do you think I should wear for Rukia? I am having trouble deciding whether I want to wear the schoolgirl one or the Death God outfit. I want to wear both, but I do not think I will have time? I basically just want to write "make a scene and you are so dead" on my hand and show it to people. I also am going to make that japanese neuralizer and she never used that in her Death God outfit.
Anyway, I would love to hear what everyone else is doing. I am avoiding doing my homework right now (last year, whoohoo!). I have one professor who is a complete ass. He is just mean, I think he went to Catholic grade/high schools, because he is about my father's age and my dad was traumatized by the Catholic education system back then. Supposedly it got better since the '80s. Anyway, Nov. 1 is my deadline for the room arrangements, ladies. I need to know if we are going to have enough people to split the rooms with at least 4 in each room. We have me, Lyndsey, Candice, Eliza, Rachel, Sarah(?) thus far, we would need two more, at least, to really justify it.
Keep in touch girls! If you cannot log on to blogger (Lyndsey, you mentioned something about that....), you can still comment to a particular post. I am pretty sure I set it to general commentary.
