AB 2008

Has anyone started thinking about what they want to go as next year? I know Eliza is thinking of being Lina from Slayers and Kylah and Joey are thinking KHII. I was thinking of Belldandy from AH, My Goddess the Movie. She has a really cool battle outfit that I wanted to try and make.

Winners!!!

Yes! The two big winners at Anime Boston 2007 (at least to me, & let's face it, that's all that really matters)! Lyndsey & Sara!!! >sniff< I'm so proud!!!
Here's the photo of Lyndsey's trophies!! Yay for her, AMV winner 3 years in a row!!! Good luck for next year!!!

Here's Sara's Honorable Mention!!!
Yay, Sara! You are so going to clean up next year!!! The regulars better watch out, here comes a woman on a mission!

"Winry's 'Tool Time'" Here's the skit in all it's glory!!!
And here's another link to a video that cut off the first half, but it shows Ed's arm attacking him better.
  • AB '07 Skit 3

  • I can't believe you guys won, I was ready to stalk some judges in the parking garages with my trusty baseball bat if you guys didn't walk away with some kind of award! Did I ever tell you Lyndsey, when you first won an AMV award for "Atonement" I was crying in the audience? It was the same when Sara got her honorable mention! I was actually tearing up (as well as screaming like crazy). I think I get more into my friends winning at the Con's than I would if it were me! Honestly, you would think that I were the one who was winning! I'm like the mother, I worry that my child won't win & when she does I flip out & can't wait to brag to everyone I can about it! I'm actually running out of people to tell! Jeez, maybe I should start carrying photos of all of you in order to brag efficiently! I'm like a female version of Hughes! You're all my darling Elysia's!!! Trust me, I can brag about each one of you at length (yes, ALL of you)!

Well, here's to another great year, and Anime Boston 2008 here we come!!!!!

    Pirates can dance!!

I snapped this photo while I was on my way to deliver Lyndsey's badge & head for the car on Friday night >sniff<, stupid exam.

Anyway, I just remembered that when Eliza finished her kimono (the Monday before the Con') we went to Joann's & McCall's patterns were on sale. Me, being the pattern fiend that I am (my Mum called me that, isn't she great?), bought a bunch with Eliza's help. We got some generic ones that are suitable for many costumes, but primarily with a Slayers theme to them. We got them in the largest sizes we could because it's easier to size down, than up. I'm just sharing so that if anyone needs a McCall's (or any pattern for that matter) you can always just send me an e-mail because I probably have it. Just bring the pattern-ease over & you can make alterations to it & borrow the instructions. Sara, I am really getting excited about AB '08, I need to borrow the series so I can pick a character! Hope everyone is recovering nicely!

    And it's over

But next year is right around the corner, in March 2008! We only have 11 months to get our costumes ready!
Well, here's the offical sign they set up in the Sheraton every year to direct us out of the hotel towards the Hynes Convention center. When we see this, we know that the fun is just about to begin.

FINALLY!!! We have our group photo! It was so awesome that everyone could come and we even welcomed some new bodies to the group! (namely, Lerra)

And finally for the Cherry Blossom Ball, we all dressed up. It was really neat to see all the different costumes at the ball. It wasn't just like a prom-y dance, a lot of people made or created costumes that certain characters wore. I love Kiarrens costume for the ball, she made the costume based on what Ed really wears, then just made it fancier & added some touches. It was so awesome!

Well, it is with a heavy heart that we drove home today. However, I'm already thinking about next year girls! I know I'm going to do a Kairi & Sora cosplay with my brother, but what else are we doing? I know Eliza wants to do a Lina, but are we going to turn that into a group thing? If so, I need to borrow the Slayers series from you, Sara (you said you had all three seasons, correct?).

Anyway, Lyndsey, did you take photos of the trophies yet? I want to see! Especially the trophy for your AMV (Roydooooooor), it looked like a curve instead of the traditional box-y style. Send them to me if you want them posted & can't do it yourself (stupid blogger). Well, girls, let's trade addresses in e-mails to eachother and we'll get those photo CDs moving around! I can't wait to see what other people took photos of! We had, like what? At least four cameras walking around? That's a lot of photos.

    This is it!!

All sorts of cosplayers come out for AB!

Anime Boston, here we come!!! There is going to have to be some serious photo sharing between us when we get back from the Con'! And Lyndsey promised video (don't forget Sara, if she brings her video camera we'll have two videographers!). Whoohoo!

Here's Eliza's lovely kimono! She's almost completely done!! She just has a little bit of hand sewing to do and then it's all done! Doesn't it look great?!

    Eliza's New Friend

Hey guys! I'm so looking forward to next weekend. =) But....in the meantime I have to show off some pics of my new ball python Kohji! He's about 8 months old and his coloration is known as pastel. Isn't he the cutest little slithery thing? ^_^

    THE END IS NEAR!!!!!

(Ignore the date on that sign.)

This is it girls (& guys who are coming)! Unless there is an emergency note (which I would e-mail anyway), this is my last informational post until after AB’07! I will probably post little cosplay details, but not anything like my previous HUGE e-mail’s & posts! I hope that you have all received the e-mail from me and I hope that it is satisfactory for organizing the trip down there. Let’s just all keep in touch on that Thursday as we are traveling down to Boston. If you did not get the e-mail or have since deleted it & don’t remember a thing, I have it saved on my computer & I can send it again.

I’m sorry, but unless you come over after 9p on Wednesday you cannot sleep over, I have class that night & possibly my internship during the day. Although, Jenna, do you want to come over? It’ll be late, but I can pick you up on my way home from school and we can figure out how to drop you off when we get back, interested? Like I said, it really depends on if I have my internship that day, otherwise I will go to the day version of my night class and get out at like 3p. I will let more people know about that as the time comes, especially you, Candice because you asked. Sara, if you want to come over that night you can join the slumber party, too. But, it all really depends on the internship. I need those three credits & my youngest sister’s advice on how to pass classes does not help. I will e-mail or call you guys no later than the evening of Sunday April 15th. If you do not hear from me, that means no slumber party.

As I said in the e-mail….
WE NEED A GROUP PHOTO THIS YEAR!!!! I want to take one of all of us in the Sheraton lobby on Thursday night after we get our badges!!! We have no full group photos from the previous four years! My tripod is coming with us!

    Noa's progress report II

I look like crap in this photo, but all we're really looking at is the costume. I need more time (& someone who knows what she's doing, help me Candice, with my hair), to make myself look like Noa. I also have to find some hair extensions to make the braids. I'll post more when I get it done.

My proudest accomplishment is the jewelry. The gold necklaces are actually those chemical light-up necklaces, you know the ones that you have to bend & snap for them to glow? And the bracelets are plastic bangles I got at wal-mart and I just spray painted them. The other necklace is a painted red wooden bead (it was blue) with two glass gold beads on either end to weight it down.

I was supposed to be wearing my tatami flip-flops, but I forgot & I'm not putting that costume on again, until AB! Well, how're everyone else's costumes? We have Lyndsey's to look at (see link to the side marked "Kiarrens Cosplay"), but what about everyone else? I just took photos of Jenna's kimono on Saturday (why don't I see them posted here, Jenna????), so everyone's going to want to see that, it looks so good, especially on you, Jenna!
